Star Count is an annual citizen science project open to all ages organised by CPRE - the Countryside Charity. Star Count begins 17th and ends 24th of February.

Thousands of people take part in the annual Star Count that simply involves counting the stars within Orion.

As well as being fun activity for friends and family, Star Count serves an important purpose. As the problem of light pollution increases year after year, it is essential to track how our night skies are being degraded by wasteful emissions. Not only that, Star Count helps us ensure we can help protect the the few remaining places in the UK where we can enjoy dark skies.

To sign up for Star Count and to receive the instructions and how to submit your observations visit the following link

Clear and dark skies to you all!
